What a comeback! Let's Go Irish!

Notre Dame, after I mentioned they were playing terrible, turned the game around and scored 19 points in the 4th quarter to win by 3 points! They were down 37-21 and shut down Michigan State's offense and took control of the game. Sweet game and Brady Quinn finally got his game back so to speak.

Let's GO IRISH

Rain Rain goooooo away!

Today's the rainiest day I can remember in years. Nonstop raining and drizzling all day. We need rain before winter but still, this is sorta lame after a while.

I decided to be lazy today, and because of the rain etc I decided to skip the whole democrat rally, rather than be out in the rain all afternoon.

1 week until College hockey starts, finally! UMD Bulldog women are playing the Minnesota Whitecaps, who are part of a women's pro hockey league.

Gopher football lost to Purdue today, and Notre Dame is playing Michigan State right now and are down 14-0 already in the 1st quarter. They're on their way to losing two games in a row.

I started playing SIMGolf again for the first time in more months than I can remember. I had to search for almost an hour for the little card with the registration number for the game to play it when I installed it. I really like the SIM franchises; most are really fun especially when the weather is like it is.

Making beef stroganoff tomorrow for dinner.. yum!

First day of fall

What a way for Fall/Autumn to start. Rainy and gray just like you'd expect it to be.

This weather might make the Democrat picnic/rally tomorrow that's scheduled for 6 hours, a little miserable if you're not dressed for the weather. It still might be well worth going to, for connections and to just meet people who are running for different offices. Only thing is the flyer that came in the mail advertised steve kelly for attorney general, while Lori Swanson actually won the primary and is Mike Hatch's (Governor candidate) assistant over the years.

Politics and the weather was the only random thoughts for now, I only woke up half houra go ;) oops.

Late summer fishing rocks

Today again I headed out to the river to see what was biting. I don't bring the camera with so much when I go in the late summer/fall as much as the other times, because I do more walking in fall fishing than summer. Today I caught 5, I think, smallmouth Bass in an hour and half. The wind really started kicking up at around 5 pm so I headed home instead of trying to cast into it.

Fishing the St. Louis River is always good, but the river is generally catch & release because of mercury levels from pollution and factories over the years. They say you can eat them now and then but I really haven't. Besides, I never fish for walleye, and if I catch one it's purely by accident.

The high school football game is a road game(in Hermantown), and the forecast says it's going to be raining so I think I'll skip going to watch the game this week. Cold and wet isn't a very fun feeling, when you don't want to be.

Testing white font, I didn't look at the template to see what color it was beforehand. The blog looks readable enough but I was just curious.

Hump day, without the humping

It's Wednesday, aka HUMP day, minus the humping, but I'm not complaining.

I'm now up to 40 eBay listings of the Beanie Babies. I decided that I'd put some of them up every other day, rather than dive headfirst into them and drown in them damn things.

Took about 2 hours this afternoon and went fishing. I caught close to 10 (if not 10) smallmouth bass, and 1 small northern pike. Late summer, early fall fishing is one of my favorite times to go fishing. The crankbaits, Rapala shad raps, etc that I like to fish with do really well this time of year. Depending on the weather I want to fish at least 1 more time this week, trying a few other spots on the river.

ALL my blog posts and website posts look best in FIREFOX, go get it!

Tuesdays Random thoughts

Tonight, Animal Planet showed the Steve Irwin memorial service. Or at least an hour of the service they did for him at Australia Zoo. I don't know when it actually took place but I turned it on and watched it. It wasn't too bad, lots of his friends and stuff did some speaking. I'm sure the actual event was more than an hour but that's what Animal Planet showed. They showed a bunch of clips of old shows after people's short speeches.

Today was weird.. it was sunny and partly cloud most of the day, but was so windy it still rained
even at the times when it looked more sunny than cloudy. It's definitely starting to get colder at night and stay cool/cold during the day.

I took a drive to Jay Cooke State Park to take some pictures of the leaves changing colors.

This is my first time trying to post pictures in a blog entry so I'm doing it to see if they work with regular html or if I have to use the 'add picture' link.

The TWINS won again tonight; and are almost guaranteed to be making the playoffs this season now :) Unless something goes drastically wrong, they'll be at least the wild card now.

Boring week ahead

This weekend's weather forecast could 'depress a clown' and yes, I know clowns are depressed beforehand. The only day they're forecasting sunshine is Wednesday, and the temperatures will be low 40's.

Next Saturday is a large Democratic party picnic/rally they're holding with John Edwards (John Kerry's running mate in 2004) coming to speak. I've thought about going, but I'm not sure how with the weather forecast being for rain, but who knows, it could be fun. The picnic is to try and rally the democrats together after what I suppose was sort of a separation with Becky Lourey and Mike Hatch both being on the Democrat primary ballot. I already mentioned why I voted for Hatch and would have anyway.

In-between today (Monday) and Saturday I don't know of anything to really do besides list more of these darn Beanie Babies, and sit in the house working on my website (link on the left.) I changed the layout and look of this whole blog because I wanted it to look a little more different than it did. I set it up so the google bar shows up after a post, so if ya feel like earning me 3 cents, click on one of the google ads you find interesting.

I've now been typing in this thing for 11 days and so far (someone said it would slow down like a new toy you stop playing with) I've posted every single day. If it gets slow and boring to type stuff in here I may not do it every day but time will tell. With the hockey season coming up there will be more to type about, and if I still have that basketball coaching job (they haven't called yet for this season (doesn't start until November 20th), a LOT more to talk about every day.

WWE Unforgiven just ended

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Vikings win... but relying on a former Packer???

The Vikings win again, but dang this is getting tough having to watch them rely on a former Green Bay Packer to win the game for them. They've played against 2 really good defenses so far and come out ahead, unlike in the last couple season where they weren't even close.

WWE PPV on tonight :) Wrestling kicks ass. DX vs McMahons/Big Show in 'hell in a cell' should be huge fun to watch. John Cena vs EDGE in a TLC (tables, ladders, and chairs) match is going to be bloody I expect.

Packers lose!!! yay! I guess Favre played good but I don't care as long as the Packers lose! ;)
