Who names their kid ESPN!?!?!?!!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15168029/?GT1=8618

What the hell? Who names their kid after the sports network ESPN??? that's just dumb, no matter how much you like the network.

Peanut Butter Jelly Time

This occurred on Thursday night on Ksexradio's Temptation show with Lorrainiac and Cuzzfucker. This was part of someone's bet against them during their fantasy football week

Subway's new dogfood & cheese

Subway changed their Steak & Cheese sub to a cubed type of steak and it looks like DOGFOOD now. The meat is cubed and looks like the stuff you feed your dog. The old version of steak & cheese actually tasted better AND looked better as well. My old favorite sub has now become one I won't order anymore unless I totally space out and forget. I'll go back to eating their meatball subs with parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. For whatever reason, Subway's also now stopped using the garlic spread for the toasted subs, and that stuff was good.

So far today looks like a good day for the high school football game. The temperature isn't bad though there's near 30 mph wind gusts. Should be the 2nd win of the season for Cloquet playing against Eveleth Gilbert.

Notre Dame plays Stanford at Notre Dame Stadium Saturday and shouldn't have too much trouble with them, but that'll be decided at game time.

UMD Men beat Lakehead University 8-1

The UMD men beat Lakehead University, from Thunder Bay, Ontario (Canada for those of you who are geographically challenged) 8-1 tonight. A bunch of UMD Freshmen players actually scored goals in their first game, albeit an exhibition game in which statistics were only for show rather than collegiate records. The men's season opens for real next Friday/Saturday. For women's hockey, see the UMD Women's hockey blog on my profile.

Car I don't own comes back to haunt me

This week I got a letter in the mail from the DMV about a car I don't own anymore and haven't for a few years. It was a piece of junk that wouldn't start when the engine was warm and I gave it to a used car dealer to dispose of.. for free. He decided to turn around and sell it to a person who wanted to give it to his grandson. They get in an argument, the grandpa takes the license plates off the car, and he (the grandson) writes the state asking for information on who the grandpa bought the vehicle from. The grandpa I assume, never reigstered the vehicle through the state after he bought it, so it comes back to me as owner, which is fricken NUTS.

Twins down 5-2 now

Well, the game WAS tied 2-2 until Torii Hunter decided to dive after a line drive with 2 outs and a man on. He created an in the park homerun for Oakland, and now Oakland scored a run in the 9th. So much for this playoff season, the best defense in baseball had an incredibly stupid 2 games of defense. Oakland hasn't done that much IN the game, and they're still up by 3 runs.

Twins game almost ready

The Twins game is almost on... After yesterday's game, the Twins need to beat Oakland by a few runs at least to have confidence to win 1 game in Oakland as well, and bring the series BACK to the Metrodome for Johan to pitch game 5. If BOOF loses the game today the Twins are basically out of the playoffs; only needing to lose 1 more to be eliminated.

Tomorrow night the men's hockey season starts!

Rainy Tuesday

The Twins didn't play very well today, making a couple defense mistakes AND not hitting worth anything until it was too late. They wasted a good game pitched by Johan Santana. Tomorrow They're supposed to pitch Boof Bonser, though I'd much rather see them pitch Brad Radke at home when a win is needed. Maybe they'll change it before tomorrow, but they had announced Bonser before.

We've got a large weather system coming through tonight, that's supposed to bring thunderstorms etc to us tonight :) I think the whole state is involved in the weather warning this time.

UMD Men start the season Thursday night so that means the hockey season is in full swing, with the men and women's team's seasons going.

I hate ladybugs!!!

Since yesterday and today, the weather warmed up, and now there are fucking LADYBUGS everywhere outside..and a few inside that I've mutulated with a flyswatter. I'm thinking of (yuck) hanging a strip of fly tape up to see if that catches them and elimintes them from my INSIDE world. Outside I can deal with them, inside.. no thanks!

Twins win central division

Thanks to Detroit faultering, AND to Kansas City beating them today, the TWINS are the Central Division champs. They'll play Oakland Tuesday at Noon AT THE DOME! Detroit losing means they have to go to New York and open their playoffs with the Yankees. The Twins playing at home first almost guarantees to me that Brad Radke will start game 2 of the playofs.

This sure makes life a little better after the Vikings miserable game once again. After my previous Viking post, they did manage to finally score a touchdown, but why wait to play offense until the other team is too far ahead???

Joe Mauer wins the batting championship, Justin Morneau has a great chance as winning the AL MVP award, and Johan Santana is a sure thing to be the Cy Young award winner for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Bring ON Oakland!

Vikings offense is inept, at best

This football game is terrible. The Vikings are down 17-6 now, and haven't scored a touchdown on offense in OVER 3 games. Brad Johnson has thrown interceptions on 2 straight possessions, and Chester Taylor can't run the ball for anything. I think I mentioned this before, but it's time for Mewelde Moore to get his job back as starting running back. He's obviously healthy again so put HIM in the game to move the ball.

Maybe it's the coach Brad Childress, who's offensive strategy is to let the other team win games.

On a good note, Dale Jr's having a great race in Kansas and in second place right now, which he needs to move up a little in the NASCAR standings.

Hooked on Mythbusters

I was going to do a short post earlier, but since midnight I've been watching mythbusters. The show is great, especially the efforts they'll go through to try every variable involved in their myth, and then the variables above and beyond that are needed to accomplish actually making the myth happen. The last episode before I fall asleep is about a snowplow's force of air going in an opposite direction of a vehicle can make it flip. Obviously this isn't going to happen since we've all driven opposite of a snowplow.. at least those of us from the cold climates.

Vikings play at Buffalo so this *should* be a Vikings win, and the best time to play there before the snow starts flying in Buffalo. I just hope the Vikings offense decides to finally start scoring.
